Quadruple Florida murder suspect wants new trial date
Published: August 20, 2008
JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. —Quadruple murder suspect Wesley Williams appeared in court Tuesday with his lawyer requesting a new trial date.
Williams was set for trial in October, but defense attorney Walter Smith cited problems with locating witnesses in the case.
Williams is set to appear on Oct. 21 for another pretrial hearing and court officials indicate that his trial date could be moved into early 2009.
He is accused of killing former girlfriend Danielle Baker and her three young sons in March of 2005.
Baker, 19, was found shot to death on the floor near the kitchen in her dwelling at the Old Cottondale Village apartment complex in Marianna. Her sons, 3-year-old Ahmaad, 1-year-old Amarion, and 3-week-old Aaron, were found dead in the bathtub of the apartment, bound with duct tape. Williams was the father of the two oldest boys.
Baker’s daughter, who was 2 at the time, was found inside the apartment unharmed.
She has since been released to the custody of a family member.
