Numerous law enforcement agencies arrested a Brundidge man and charged him with capital murder Monday night.

According to Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson, authorities found 24-year-old Everette Rico Newson at a residence in Abbeville early Monday night.

The U.S. Marshals Service was called in to help locate Newson, who authorities believe was involved in a murder in Level Plains.

Olson said the marshals service, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Dothan Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Wiregrass Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force and Dale County Sheriff’s Office all helped in Newson’s capture.

Newson is being held at the Dale County Jail, and no bond has been set.

A warrant for capital murder was issued for Newson’s arrest after he allegedly entered a Level Plains home on Oct. 17 with Jarmon Demetrius Barrow, 23, also of Brundidge, during what authorities have called a drug-related home invasion.

Barrow was charged with the murder after he allegedly shot and killed Marcus Blackmon in the residence.

“I wish I could say we have found everyone we’re looking for, but what I can say is that we are actively searching,” Olson said.

Olson said a third person had been taken into custody for questioning, but that authorities were still looking for a person they believe served as the driver for Barrow and Newson.
