A capital murder warrant has been filed against a second man believed to be involved in the Sunday night slaying of a Level Plains resident.
Everette Rico Newsome, 24, of Brundidge, is sought on a warrant, charging him in the death of 43-year-old Marcus Blackmon. Newsome is not in police custody.
Blackmon was killed during a home invasion, during which two men entered his residence, demanding the location of drugs and money, according to authorities. Blackmon was shot during the incident.
Authorities have already arrested Jarmon Demetrius Barrow, 23, and also charged him with capital murder in connection with Blackmon’s death. Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson said Barrow is believed to have used a 9 mm handgun to kill Blackmon.
Anyone with information about Newsome is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (334) 774-2335.
