A Dothan man acquitted of a murder charge last year, and who was out on bond for a felony drug charge, was among six people arrested on various drug charges by police at a Dothan apartment.

According to a Dothan police statement, narcotics agents seized 21 grams of cocaine and about 15 grams of marijuana after they served a search warrant at an apartment in the 700 block of South Range Street.

Among those arrested was Dametrius Rashaad Roberts, 23, who lives at the apartment where the search warrant was served. Roberts was out of jail on bond for two felony charges filed against him last month, including first-degree possession of marijuana and second-degree receiving stolen property.

Dothan police arrested Roberts in August 2006, and charged him with murder in connection to the shooting death of Roderick Williams outside the Southern Nights Lounge. A jury found Roberts not guilty of murder in May 2008.

More recently, police charged Roberts on Wednesday with two misdemeanor crimes, including second-degree possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. The statement said police found marijuana inside the apartment. They also found some cocaine and marijuana during a search of several vehicles parked outside.

Police also arrested Jeremy Rashaud Sanders, 24, of Creekwood Drive, and charged him with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Sanders was out on bond for two pending felony assault charges. Dothan police charged Sanders earlier this year in connection to a shooting at Club Chloe the day after Christmas, which left two others injured.

Police also arrested Kevin Scott Thompson, 29, of South Iroquois Street, and charged him with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Court records show Thompson had been charged with trafficking a controlled substance twice, and both times he pleaded guilty to a reduced unlawful possession of a controlled substance charge.

Narcotics agents also arrested Michael Antonio Blackmon, 24, of East Washington Street, and charged him with misdemeanor second-degree possession of marijuana. Shane Lamar Martin, 23, of Hamilton Street, and Jonathan Mathis, 25, of South Bell Street, were both charged with misdemeanor second-degree possession of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
