Houston County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Ozark teenager Wednesday and charged him with the sex assault of a 12-year-old Cottonwood girl, according to a statement released by Sheriff’s Capt. Antonio Gonzalez.
Investigators arrested Lyle Matthias Brown, 19, of West College Street, and charged him with two felony counts of second-degree rape. The sexual assault was reported to sheriff’s investigators on Sunday. The assaults occurred over the past year.
More charges are pending while Houston County Sheriff’s investigators work with deputies in Dale County, Gonzalez said.
Brown was being held in the Houston County Jail on Thursday evening on a $10,000 bond.
