Trio jailed in Troy home invasion
Three Pike County men are behind bars after Troy police recently charged them with sexually assaulting three women during a robbery home invasion.
According to a Troy Police Department statement, investigators arrested Anthony Perrie Turner, 22, of Clayton, and two brothers, Kendrick Katrell Thomas, 23, of Clayton, and Ronald Demarkus Thomas, 25, of Louisville, each with at least 15 felony crimes.
Assistant Pike County District Attorney Tom Anderson said six people, three men and three women, were inside a Troy mobile home when the robbery happened around 2 a.m. Monday. Anderson said the men were pistol whipped during the robbery and all six were forced into a closet in the home at gunpoint. He said the women were removed from the closet, at which time at least two of them were raped and one was sodomized.
Police arrested the Thomas brothers Monday evening and Turner was arrested Wednesday. According to the Troy police statement, the home invasion happened on Swindall Road just south of Troy.
A Troy police statement said investigators charged all three men with the following crimes: six counts of first-degree kidnaping, six counts of first-degree robbery, a single count of first-degree rape, first-degree burglary and first-degree theft of property.
Ronald Thomas was also charged with an additional charge of first-degree sodomy while Turner was also charged with the additional crimes of a second count of first-degree rape and a single count of first-degree sodomy.
Kendrick Thomas was being held on an $800,000 bond, while his brother was held on a $900,000 bond and Turner was held on a $1 million bond.
If convicted, each man faces 10 to 99 years in prison for the charges, which are all class A felony crimes, except the theft charge.
“Once in a while you’ll have a criminal offense of this magnitude, but it’s usually just one suspect,” Anderson said. “This is quite rare to have this many people acting against this many victims.”
