Troy man killed in single-vehicle crash
Troy resident Robert Bruce Bassett died early Wednesday after a one-vehicle car wreck.
According to Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams, a Ford Aerostar van left the roadway on U.S. 231 North just after midnight, crashed into some trees and caught on fire with the victim trapped inside. The wreck is still under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers, the Pike County District Attorney’s Office and the Pike County Coroner’s Office.
