The warrants that were issued Tuesday for Clio Rescue members Chauncey Wood, Tina Robinett Wood, Alice Robinett, Freddie Childs and Kathy Childs were withdrawn by Thursday, according to Barbour County Circuit Clerk David Nix.
Clio Police Chief Richard Johnson said earlier this week the five individuals were charged with theft of property second degree – a Class C felony – for taking medical supplies from a 1993 ambulance that belonged to the city of Clio.
“They basically took everything that was in there,” Johnson said.
He added that the property was stolen Sunday between 3-5 p.m.
The warrants were signed Tuesday. Johnson said then he expected the warrants to be served by the end of the week.
But by Wednesday, all the equipment and supplies taken from the ambulance had been returned. The warrants were withdrawn and the charges were dropped.
“The council probably should not have signed those warrants since this seems to be more civil than anything,” Nix said.

I am glad peoples lives will not be ruined by this with having to be arrested and go through the proces.
However Mr. Nix this was not a civil case these people supposedly went in and took items that did not belong to them. Code of Alabama cals this Theft of Property. These people after being released from the rescue squad should have went to the town and said we have these items that are personal and these items are yours. May we get our personal property.
I am glad that this has been resolved to everyones agreement.
