Dothan attorney Malone elected to university board
TUSCALOOSA — Dothan attorney Davis Malone, 48, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama System. Malone will represent the Second Congressional District.
A partner in the Dothan law firm Farmer & Malone, P.A., he earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Alabama in 1983 and received his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law three years later.
Unanimously elected to the governing board of Alabama’s largest higher education enterprise in a meeting on Feb. 6, Malone joins Decatur businessman Britt Sexton and Huntsville engineering executive Ron Gray as the UA System board’s newest members.
All three begin their terms immediately, and their names will go to the Alabama State Senate for confirmation.
According to board bylaws, all elected members are eligible to serve three consecutive six-year terms.
