Geneva County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 30-year-old Samson man on Tuesday on multiple charges for his involvement in a spree of burglaries, according to Chief Deputy Tony Helms.
Investigators arrested WIlliam Ray Colburn and charged him with felony second-degree theft of property, felony third-degree burglary and misdemeanor third-degree criminal mischief. Colburn was released from the Geneva County Jail on Tuesday after he posted a $5,500 bond.
Colburn was charged with burglarizing a Samson residence last month and stealing a boat, a rifle and several other items of property worth more than $2,000, Helms said. Most of the property has been recovered.
The residential burglary is one of four recent burglaries investigated by the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, including a commercial burglary.
Helms said investigators are looking for more people believed to be involved in the burglaries, but no other charges have been filed.
