Chance of severe weather tonight in southeast Alabama
Severe weather is expected to move into the Wiregrass between 5 and 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee.
The weather is expected to bring 1 to 2 inches of rain and potentially damaging straight-line winds, though isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
According to Houston County EMA Director Clark Matthews, the biggest concern for residents should be the formation of super cells.
“Super cells could lead to isolated tornadoes and damaging winds, so that’s our biggest concern,“ he said.
Any severe weather is expected to leave the area by 2 a.m. Thursday.
