Farley to test system Thursday
The Southern Nuclear Company in conjunction with the Dothan/Houston County Emergency Management Agency, will be conducting testing of the Farley Nuclear Plant Prompt Notification System, Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. Central Time.
The PA systems will be activated and the sirens will sound for three minutes in Ashford, Gordon, and Columbia. Also, the Tone Alert Radios will be activated.
After these systems are activated, Farley Nuclear representatives will be calling a sample of residents within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone around the plant to measure the effectiveness of the test.
