Gas leak in Ashford leads to home evacuations

Firefighters stand by with a fire hose as crews work to repair a gas leak that occured Friday morning in Ashford.
Residences near a gas leak on First Avenue in Ashford were evacuated Friday morning while authorities waited for gas company workers to fix the problem.
The leak was reported shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday.
The area impacted was between Church and Main streets.
Residents were allowed to return home after the leak was repaired.
