A 75-year-old Coffee Springs man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Alabama Highway 123 Saturday morning.

According to information provided by Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd, Tim Milton was northbound on Highway 123 in a Ford F-150 pickup truck pulling a cow trailer, when he lost control of the vehicle at Stembridge Bridge near the Dale/Houston County line between Wicksburg and Newton.

“He started going sideways and got T-boned at the bridge,” Byrd said.

Milton’s truck was hit by Joe Frank Wilson, 72, of Ariton, who was also driving an F-150 pickup truck. Wilson and his passenger, Elinda Wilson, 62, of Ariton, were transported to Flowers Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known.

According to an Alabama Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division press release, Milton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The Wilsons were.

The accident remains under investigation.
