Goshen man dead in Pike County auto accident
A Goshen man was killed early Saturday morning in Pike County, according to a release from Alabama State Troopers.
Jerry McClain, 53, of Goshen was traveling in a 2001 Ford Mustang when he ran off the road.
State Trooper spokesperson Kevin Cook said the initial investigation indicates McClain’s vehicle was going over the posted speed limit on a wet and slick Pike County Road 1101 when he ran off the road and lost control of his vehicle. McClain’s vehicle overturned several times and came to rest on its roof. McClain was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams.
Cook said the crash occurred at about 1 a.m. on the rural road 3.5 miles west of Troy. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
