Man dead after police confrontation
A Dale County man was killed Saturday night after opening fire on police dispatched to a domestic call, according to authorities.
Dale County Sheriff Wally Olsen said Saturday night that Ozark Police and Dale County Sheriff’s Office personnel were confronted and later fired upon by a man after responding to a domestic violence call at the man’s home in Echo. Police returned fire, fatally wounding the man. Olsen said further details would be released concerning the shooting on Sunday.
