LEVEL PLAINS—A three-car wreck on U.S. Highway 84 near Level Plains led to four people being hospitalized Thursday evening.
A van driven by an 81-year-old female was attempting to cross Highway 84 at the Coffee and Dale county lines when it was struck by a truck traveling West on 84, according to Alabama State Trooper Anthony Ellis.
After the initial collision, the two vehicles struck a car as they were sliding off the road.
The driver of the truck was airlifted to Flowers Hospital, while three other victims were transported to a local hospital.
Troopers did not release the names of the victims Thursday night, so no condition update was available.
The wreck happened at about 4:30 p.m.
The windshield of the truck was completely busted out, and the van showed significant damage as well.
