‘All the kids, all the time’
Published: August 21, 2009
It is with alarming urgency that I pen this letter. There is an election of the greatest importance coming up, one that affects our children in our public school system now and for the rest of their lives.
It is our chairman of the school board. All of us have or know someone who has children in the school. This is important.
Our chairman must be someone who has our kids’ best interests at heart, someone who we know and who has spent a lifetime with us as children, and then our children and, indeed, our children’s children.
Our chairman must be someone who has a name in our community and who is not trying to find one. They must be there to answer our questions, whether we see them at church on Sundays or at peewee football games. We need someone who is approachable and one of us. This person will be entrusted with our greatest assets — our kids.
This person should be someone our kids know and respect, someone who is a friend, not part of the way but all of the way, even if some people don’t like it.
In the next few years, a lot has to be done and decided for the present and future for our kids. I know in my heart that person is Harry Wayne Parrish.
Please go to the polls and let’s put someone in office who represents all of our children, not just a few in a few schools, but all the schools, all the kids, all the time.

Harry Wayne Parrish is by far the most experienced and has the strongest skill set to take on this position. He is a very successful financial planner, and has also found success as an administrator, coach, athletic director and classroom teacher. You can’t beat his qualifications and he is definitely the right person for this job!
VOTE HWP on Tuesday!!
With all due respect to coach Parrish and his abilities as a football coach, he does not have the skill sets and would be in over his head as chairperson of the board of education. Our kids deserve someone that has the necessary qualifications and that person is not Harry Wayne Parrish.
mr.johnson said “Our chairman must be someone who has our kids’ best interests at heart”. It is for that reason Harry Wayne Parrish should not be elected to this important position. Harry Wayne does not care at all about the children in our school system (at least not the little girls). When a former DCS teacher who happened to also coach with Harry Wayne was arrested, convicted and sent away to prison for raping and molesting a 12 year old little girl who was a student of his, Harry Wayne Parrish wrote a letter to the state parole board seeking the early release of his child predator friend. Yes, that’s right. Harry Wayne Parrish would advocate letting this child predator back out into society rather than being an advocate for the innocent little girl who his buddy raped. Harry Wayne Parrish is not who we want to have as chairman of the BOE. He is stain on decent society. He is a small man with a very high opinion of himself.
So you think that the Northview and Westgate area kids are all the kids in Dothan? SURPRISE! They are in all the schools…. 17 to be exact. All he talks about is Northview, winning coach, Northview and we cannot forget about the 500,000 field house that he paraded around last night at the Northview game!
