Letter: Can you read?

It is obvious that geography is not very important to the Eagle publishers since the paper is filled with “news” from Decatur, Ala., (Decatur, Ga., is nearer and a much more interesting place, and Decatur County, Ga., is only an hour away). We also are treated to gardening tips from Pennsylvania and reviews of movies that are not being shown at any Dothan theaters.

But it really is too much when you subject us to the stupidity of Jay Ambrose who thinks that it is not a journalist’s responsibility to check the facts of the garbage he is spewing. I know that you go out of your way to find the cheapest syndicated columnists, but at least your editors should have a cursory knowledge of the world and try to actually read some of the stuff you print.

The Dothan Eagle is a poor excuse for a paper anyway.  I won’t pay for their poor reporting. The website is free to get local info and that is fowled up the majority of the time. Everyone knows the tag line of this joke; “So, I read in the Dothan Eagle….“
