Senior citizens will suffer most from health care reform
Published: September 17, 2009
As I predicted before last year’s election, we now have a radical, left-wing president, determined to change America from a democracy to a socialist country.
It’s all about control, and if his administration takes control of our health care, it will have total control over every aspect of our lives.
I’m 67 years old and, for the first time in my adult life, I’m afraid of my government. I don’t trust them or believe anything government officials say.
As a senior citizen, I am afraid and I am angry that I may lose my health care. Those of us who are older than 65 will be the last to see a doctor — if we are lucky enough to even see one.
We will not be relevant anymore. We will be a liability to this administration and not worth the cost of quality health care.
Seniors and others who are speaking out against a government-run health care plan have been called mobs, rednecks and even terrorists and other derogatory names, just because we’re exercising our First Amendment rights and asking questions that don’t agree with this government takeover of health care.
How dare we disagree with this administration? They are the elite and we are only peons, and, according to them, they know better than we what is best for us.
I have talked to some who voted President Barack Obama in and they tell me they are sorry to say they voted for him. His crown is falling off his head. People are beginning to see the real Barack Obama and it isn’t pretty.
Sadly, we senior citizens will suffer the most for the next three years.

I have thought for a very long time that social security, health care, etc., are inadequate for our senior citizens, and it is a sad, sad thing when the incarcerated in prisons receive three full meals a day, free health care, entertainment, exercise, and library access when many of our senior citizens have to live at or below poverty level after working most of their lives and contributing to the federal and state programs through taxes. Prisoners, in my opinion, are there to be punished for wrong doing. Put them on bread and water. Forget satellite TV! And for heaven’s sake, support our senior citizens. They are a virtually untapped wealth of knowledge and experience that could help us younger folks.
Haelth care or the lack of same as in my case is a very important issue. I own a small business in the area and I can not afford health insurance. I am one of a growing number of people who under the current system can not afford to protect my health. Many in this area may know my Georgia and the fact that the current system failed her so horribly, it has left her disabled and came close to costing her her life. Without insurance it also left 500.000.00 in medical bills to pay. After many years they are finally paid but I am well past my prime and I can not afford to get health insurance still and will not be able to pay for the next health problem that might come along.I am not asking for a hand out, just afforadable insurane so I will not have to give my childrens inheritance away and 2nd time. Is that too much to ask for?
Sincerely,
Brian Fleming
One last thing in regards to us “Chicken Littles”:
Show me a man who isn’t afraid, and I will show you a liar.
Do you hear something, Pinget?
Those Crickets you hear are the only ones watching MSNBC,NBC,ABC,CBS,CNN,HLN…COMBINED.
when the morning “Chatter” shows kick their prime time ratings, there is a reason.
The NBC family mocks normal people. They mock and humialiate, attack these people and their character.
Just once i wish an interracial couple would call MSNBC and say, “We were there at the 9-12 rally. Which one of us is racist?“
When a network airs images of children at rallies and then uses the sexual term of tebagging in regards to them, that is indefensible.
I am proud to say that if the other networks finally saw that Fox News’ policy of talking straight with people and avoiding double speak, smoke and mirrors tactics, and put it into use, it wouldn’t work for them. it would come off as so insincere, much like the grin of a great white appproaching a seal. right before lunch.
Have you noticed that people on Social Security now make less than a kid at McDonald’s each month? and still has to pay almost a C-Note each month just for Medicare that is not able to cover everything?
Why should the elderly who are on S.S. and Medicare worry when they have to choose between health care or eating?
And as they struggle with that, all they hear on the news (any channel) is “change…but there has to be sacrifice….“?
why worry?
Pinget, stop mocking people who have a valid concern.
Unless you would like to go to Afghanistan (unarmed, since you have to be so liberal that fighting is beneath you) and tell the terrorists not to worry about us infidels…
don’t worry Pinget, those Ak-47s and suicide bombers are Versace accessories…
[did ya notice i didn’t call you a name?]
And one more thing, if all the Republicans and the others who are opposed to the healhcare plan as it is, are Chicken Littles, wouldn’t that make Obama FOXY LOXY? Hmmmmm
Two years ago the Queen Mother of Left-wing liberals Nancy Pelosi declared” that descent was the highest form of patriotism” and the left bashed President Bush and his administration for every thing they could drag up real or imagined.
But, now these two years later, what has changed? How come descenter’s are no longer patriots expressing their concerns about their country, but are unamerican, angry mobs, racists, nazi sympathizers and homegrown terrorists.
There is a common thread that runs throughout the liberal Democratic party and that is attack the character of the speaker, writer or anyone that has a different opinion from their talking points. The trouble is they have no sensible talking points. They don’t even agree among themselves.
Mrs Owens has every right to be concerned about her healthcare. It’s her helthcare that concerns her not yours. What truly scares the left is Americans that have begun to take more interest in their country’s direction and are no longer accepting blindly and silently the garbage that is being spewed from Washington. The politicians elected and sent to Washington are not doing there appointed jobs and the 2010/2012 elections will be representative of the will of “We The People”.
“Cowards!“ “Chicken Littles.“ Republicans should “Grow Backbones”! You are definitely free to express your views of others but the NAME CALLING will not win anyone to your side (even though your comments are not nearly as bad as calling someone a liar to their face as we have witnessed this past week). Yes, name calling applies to both sides.
Maybe Rep Bright should hold a town hall in Ozark, Dothan, and Enterprise and explain to the people exactly why they shouldn’t be scared. The fact that he isn’t holding a meeting for theses people face to face probably signals to them that he isn’t so sure how a new healthcare plan will affect them.
LOL. You go girl.
Chicken Little Republicans. “Help! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!“ Cowards! Why go around squawking all the time about how scared you are? Grow a backbone!
‘Chicken Little Republicans’ or ‘RINO’ or ‘Brainwashed Fox News Watchers’ are her talking points.
Funny how she can continue to refer to people in such a manner. I guess the Eagle considers her comments respectful.
