Here are some tax policy stats for the two candidates for president, from the Tax Policy Center.
If you make $19,000 to $32,600, you will get a cut from Barack Obama of $892; from John McCain, you will get a cut of $118 per year.
If you make between $37,600 and $66,400 per year, you will get a $1,118 cut from Obama and $325 from McCain.
On the other hand, if you make between $227,000 and $603,4000 per year, under Obama, you will pay an additional $121 per year, and under McCain, you will save $8,159 per year.
I know that the rich folks need some relief. The next thing you will see is these folks standing in front of the country club with a tin cup.
Recently there was a letter about our Republican morons; that is strong language for people who are shrewd enough to get folks to vote for them time after time even though they do nothing for them.
I talked to a friend of mine in Florida the other day who told me her mother has ovarian cancer and needs immediate surgery. Her mother is 59 years old and has worked hard all her life, but couldn’t afford health insurance anymore. Doctors won’t treat her because of this. Daughters are losing mothers and sons are losing fathers, all because of this: “I got mine and to hell with your attitude.”
When you go to church on Sunday, make sure to pray real hard. As I remember from Vacation Bible School, the Lord frowned on counting your pieces of gold and being greedy.
Good luck. I know why Sen. Obama won’t win Alabama, and it is a shame. We should all take a minute to admit who and what we are.
