‘Who is paying Neal Boortz?‘

» 36 Comments | Post a Comment

Either Neal Boortz thinks all his listeners are really, really stupid or he has finally lost his marbles.

Back in 2004, I had proposed that since this country is not designed for $4 gasoline (I actually did say four dollars), we need to start slowly increasing the tax on gasoline and use the money to support a public transportation system.

Now that we have $4 a gallon gas, how and why are Boortz and that two-legged dog of a talk show host, Dennis Miller, out supporting the big oil?

The Republicans have never had a shortage of small time crooks to be their mouthpieces. From a convicted perjurer in Col. Oliver North to the convicted burglar in G. Gordon Liddy to drug abuser Rush Limbaugh to Dick Morris, who became famous for cavorting with prostitutes and now the new and improved Dennis Miller, it is hard to believe that someone would really take these clowns seriously, but here we are.

I hear these guys lamenting how the Big Oil is being portrayed as callous, as how to figure out the profit margins, and how Democrats are out to kill their business. Let me assure you that I am not voting for Obama or for McCain, I will only tell you the truth and let you make up your own mind about the presidential candidates and your talk show hosts.

I am sworn to protect this country against the enemies, foreign and domestic.

So who is paying Neal Boortz?

I was going to post my own comment but after reading four pages it’s all been said already.

A mathematical certainty

Having responded to Mr. Razavi’s “Who is paying Boortz” I received an e-mail inviting me to visit Mr. Razavi’s blog.  Hook, line and sinker, I was reeled in.  I read every posting since its inception dated early 2006.  While Mr. Razai invited comments at the end of every posting not one was forthcoming.  Mr. Razavi, listen to the silence.  This simple fact, of and by itself, speaks volumes!

“Logical” was one particular posting that caught my attention.  In a perverse way I did enjoy your musings supporting your contention that mankind is incapable of “logical, intelligent and rational thought”.

A mathematical certainty is “1”.  After digesting the short circuited synaptic misfires of your thoughts I was impressed that you had aptly supported your contention.  On this big blue marble there is at least one human being that is completely and utterly incapable of logical, intelligent and rational thought.  Kudos!

Patrick obviously hasn’t read the FairTax Book and the follow-up. The FairTax cannot be implemented without the repeal of the 16th amendment becasue the Obama’s, and Pelosi’s and Reid’s would take the FairTax and leave in place the current system. Ron Paul’s plan is mandatory for implementation of the FairTax.

Anyone who says that public transportation isn’t a good idea has never riden a bullet train in Europe. Private industry should pay for it but buying the land would be impossible so the upfront expense would have to be dealt with by government or on existing railroad land which isn’t likely. Afterwards it should be run like any other business, to repay the taxpayer for the initial expense by charging a fare that allows you to do so, then live or die my funding itself. If one decides not to ride that’s okay, fill up the truck. If we can build it on the highway, you can wave when it passes you.

Transportationm as in roads, fire, police and military are the government’s business, not funding the nanny state that exists as a means of buying our votes. We drive our trucks on the highway, paid for through tax dollars. Head back to Europe. You’ll appreciate the superior system we have
within a few hours. Imagine applying US talents to building a high-speed rail system.

Finally let me dumb down my “40% Net Income theft” comment. Net Income is realized after all expenses have been deducted from the retail price. The government does nothing yet earns far more than the oil companies Net Income of 9%. If Obama was true to his Excess Profits Tax, he would start his collection from the US Treasury.

First off, as someone whom has also served in the military thank you for your service. Now that all pleasants have been stated let’s talk about this shall we.

First you seriously have forgotten to take into account the basic structure of a laissez-faire system of economics aka “capitalism”, a little thing called “supply and demand”, another thing called the the “business cycle.“

Second, just because someone is inclined with a free-market economical ideology instead of a socialist bent on redistributing wealth..doesn’t make them a republican crony….Boortz is a (repeat after me)“Li-ber-tar-ian.“

Let me see if I can sum it up for you here. A. 25% wind fall tax put on “big oil”.....profits drop…. B. investors in said corporation are in an uproar because said windfall tax affects their investment via what is basically an attack on divdends/capital gains…C. corporations raise price to satisfy investors…..consumer ( that would be you) pays the 25% windfall tax personal on April 15th and everytime you fill up your car.

Now explain to me how a Marxist/Keynesian socialist approach for a solution outweights a Adam smith/Milton friedman capitalist approach?

what is a business cycle? what is an aggregated demand curve? how is your socialist countercyclical tax-and-spend solution going to benefit me as someone in the middle class? (the key demographic in a laissez faire or capitalist system)....what of the “balance of payments” in our nation’s political economy?...any thoughts?

How is legislation like S. 2991, the “Consumer-First Energy Act of 2008, which would create a tax on “windfall profits” of the major oil companies at a special supplemental rate of 25 percent; repeal the Section 199 deduction for the major oil and gas companies and tightens the rules restricting the use of foreign tax credits on oil and gas related income; suspend filling of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR); punish price gouging; limit excessive speculation in the oil markets; and crack down on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). The “windfall profits” tax would not apply to profits of oil companies that are invested in clean, affordable and domestically produced renewable alternative fuels, expanded refinery capacity and utilization, or renewable electricity production.

A windfall profits tax is not to be confused with the excess profit taxes of World War I, World War II, and the Korean War eras. Windfall Profit Taxes are more of an excise-type of tax. A windfall profits tax on the oil companies would only deepen the problem that we currently face. The profits of the oil companies are not actually inherent to the corporation itself. Corporations don’t pay taxes in theory, we pay for them via consumption, and taxing the profits of the oil companies is actually taxing the shareholder’s profits (and you at the pump) via their investment in stock that they are entitled to. (Capital gains tax via dividends anyone?)

It is a tax on profits that ensue from a sudden windfall gain to a particular company or industry. In 1980, United States federal legislation was passed that levied such a tax on oil companies because of the profits they earned as a result of the sharp increase in oil prices brought about by the OPEC oil embargo. Since then, the tax has not been reenacted, however with gas prices once again reaching record levels there is renewed pressure on the U.S. government to bring back the tax. Amid low oil prices, the tax was ended in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.

Throwing more money at the problem is not the answer. Our greatest export is our unique system of government and the ingenuity it fosters. Economic assistance coupled with measurable reform provides a pathway to prosperity and a petri dish for burgeoning economic opportunity.

Maybe the better question you ask yourself is whom is in MY pocket taking all the money I worked hard for just to give it to some calling foal in life due to no personal drive within themselves. Oh I forgot the evil rich people that worked their butts off all their lives got “LUCKY” in life’s lottery. yeah those damm lucky top 1% percent earners..how dare they only pay 45% overall in taxes…

Mohammed N. Razavi

Please get your facts straight about eViL big oil before you make anymore uneducated comments.

Firstly, ask yourself why NO Democrats have found dirt on these oil companies.
A. There is no dirt, unless you think that the Democrats are in on this “Conspiracy.“

Secondly, when you drink bottled water, ask yourself “does gas or bottled water [any company] have a higher profit margin?“

A. any educated person knows that the bottled water industry has a higher profit margin than do the oil companies. (oil companies average 7-10%)

Can you Mr. Mohammed N. Razavi explain or even understand the difference between profit & profit margin?

Fact = the oil companies are doing everything within the confines of good business ethics, thats why these Democrats cannot find any dirt on these guys.

Get educated, take some courses on economics 101 before your make yourself look bad in public again.

OK, HERE IS THE COMPLETE TEXT OF MY LETTER TO THE DOTHAN EAGLE , WITHOUT THE EDITING BY THE DOTHAN EAGLE AGAIN, I HOPE

WHO IS PAYING NEAL BOORTZ

I really do not wish to call anyone stupid, but then there are exceptions. Either Neal Boortz thinks all his listeners are really really stupid , or that dear ole Neal has finally lost his marbles. His brand of “Capitalism on Viagra” , steroids being an illegal drug, will not only destroy the poor, it will also destroy the country.

Back in two thousand four, I had proposed that since this country is not designed for a four dollars ( I actually did say four dollars), we need to start slowly increasing the tax on gasoline and use the money to support a public transportation system. I have detailed my plans elsewhere in this blog. Now that we have four dollar a gallon gas how and why are Neal, and that two legged dog of a talk show host, Dennis Miller, out supporting the big oil.

The Republicans have never had a shortage of small time crooks to be their mouth pieces. From a convicted perjurer in COL North, to the convicted burglar in G. Gordon Liddy, to drug abuser Rush Limbaugh, to the very true to his name the Dick Morris, who became famous for cavorting with prostitutes and now the new and improved coke head the Dennis Miller, it is hard to believe that someone would really take these clowns seriously, but here we are.

I hear these guys lamenting as to how the big oil is being portrayed as callous, as how to figure out the profit margins, and the how Democrats are out to kill their business. Let me assure you that I am not voting for Obama or for McCain, I will only tell you the truth and let you make up your own mind, about the presidential candidates and your talk show hosts.

The way that Neal and Dennis explain the oil company profits is this. Say you call someone and tell them that there will be a get together at the church Saturday at two and that they MUST show up, and tell them that there will be some singing and some prayers and a pause for everyone to hang out in the parking lot which will be followed by a reception in the fellowship hall, but leave out the fact that his mother was murdered last night and it will be all for her funeral.

Yes a lot of retirement plans contain shares of the big oil companies, and yes if you participate in a retirement plan you will get a few dollars of the increase in the share price and dividend increases. But what they leave out is this, that the higher oil prices are shutting down car factories and dealerships, thousands of independent truckers have been driven out of work.

That the increase in fuel costs is increasing the cost of everything else, that as you make more money in oil company shares, your GM and ford shares are sinking, your airlines stocks are going under, you are paying more for everything else, airline travel is going to be for the ultra rich only and as the air travel shrinks so will the employment in the TSA, the baggage handlers will be out of work and the ticket clerks and travel agents and the hotel industry will suffer. We as a nation are not doing better by paying more for our gas.

I do want higher gas taxes and prices, I do want subsidized public transportation for the poor and the elderly at least. I do not want to see people made poor by their car expenses, and I do not want to see poor having to choose between feeding their kids, buying school supplies or buying gas to get to work. I surely do not want to see the elderly die of heat or freeze to death because they could not afford to pay the electric bill.

A higher gasoline tax, that is used to subsidize the public transportation services will reduce the dependence on foreign oil immediately, reduce our trade deficit, will give lesser amounts of our money to the terrorists and the un democratic regimes of Arabs and the Venezuelan Hugo Chavez, it will increase the value of the dollar. It will also take out the speculation from the markets, and actually lower the cost of oil as the use and the demand for it decreases. It will be a win win for every American, and even for many a poor overseas.

I am sworn to protect this country against the enemies, foreign and domestic. So who is paying you Mr. Neal.

Innuendo

What the writer has done is to give us innuendo, plain and simple. He has absolutely nothing to back up his claim that Boortz is in the pocket of big oil—because no such situation exists.

To show how ridiculous innuendo is, I’ll give the following example. How do we know that, based upon his Persian surname, Mr. Razavi is not in the pocket of the Iranian government?

True, I don’t know Boortz. However, I do read his website 5 days a week. The Fair Tax is my second choice when it comes to tax reform. My first choice would be what Ron Paul wants; repeal the 16th Amendment to the US Constitution and abolish the IRS. To be generous, the rest of your 1st paragrah is confusing. Raising taxes is necessary to protect the country?
Public transportation is a great idea? Do you mean public transportation at taxpayer expense is a great idea? Again, I ask, where in the US Constitution does it authorize Congress to fund public transportation. If there is really a need for public transportation, it is up to the market to provide it and it would do so, if government stayed out of the market. I also pay $100.00 plus to fill my truck but am not in the “building industry” Does that mean I am not part of the hardest hit (by high fuel prices)? Meaningless point on your part. Leads me to believe that you are part of that sector. While that sector is PART of what makes America great. What truely makes America great is the unalienable individual Rights espoused in our Constitution and the free market that it allowed to grow.
Public transportation is not in their plan??? Boortz? And just why should it be? “...it is for most of middle and lower income America”?? You’re the spokesman for us? When did you get elected for that position? And yet again, the rest of that paragrah is incomprehensible. “...40% Net income theft”???
If you wish to hold me in contempt, feel free. It won’t bother me in the least. But if you have a passing awareness of the US Constitution, the limits imposed on the federal government by it and that it even states how to amend it (Article V), you would hold yourself in contempt for deciding it is ok to ignore any part of it that gets in the way of your “good idea” that everyone should pay for.
