A small power outage has been reported on Omusse Road in Dothan, according to Charles Finney of the Houston County EMA.

Finney said the outage is a result of a tree falling on a power line.

Several area schools are closing early today because of Tropical Storm Fay’s approach.

Local school leaders aren’t taking any chances Friday, deciding to close schools early as Tropical Storm Fay continues to be forecast to move through the Wiregrass.

The high school football season is scheduled to begin for one Wiregrass team in the next 48 hours.

Tropical Storm Fay is still projected to make its way to Southeast Alabama by this weekend and forecasts are predicting the possibility of flooding and tornadoes from the storm.
