CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Michael Alcorn scattered nine hits in his third complete game of the season and Tennessee Tech knocked off Alabama 6-2 in an elimination game Saturday in the NCAA tournament.

Chad Oberacker had three hits for the Golden Eages (31-23-1).

Chad Hayes’ two-run single in the second gave Tech an early lead. Alabama pulled to 3-2 with a run in the seventh. The Crimson Tide (37-21) had a chance to tie the game, but Brandon May was thrown out trying to score from second on Del Howell’s infield single.

Tennessee Tech put the game away with three runs in the bottom of the inning with the help of a throwing error by Alabama pitcher Adam Morgan (4-2).
