Dothan basketball defeats Charles Henderson

Dothan defeated Charles Henderson 46-41 to improve to 1-1 on the season. Jamal Rodgers led the Tigers with 14 points. Stephen Trawick scored 12 points, had 10 rebounds, had three steals and blocked three shots. Barnard McGhee had nine points and six assists.
Barbour County 66, Northview 60: Takwain Whigham led Barbour County (1-0) with 13 points. Shelton Thompkins-Daniels added nine.
Headland 66, Rehobeth 55: For the Rams, Jeremy McKay had 21 points, Dishon McKay 18 and Jahwan Williams 14.
For Rehobeth, Zaccheus Watford led the way with 23.
Northside Methodist 46, Tabernacle Christian 33: Shay Hunsucker scored 12 points and had five rebounds. Sean Troester added 10 points, and Justin Snell had nine points.
Emmanuel Christian 72, Central Christian 46: Garrett Golden led Emmanuel (2-1) with 28 points and five assists. Ben Fain added 11 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Gabe Hall added seven assists.
Girls
Barbour County 55, Northview 34: Shakkara Dinkins scored 10 points for Barbour County (1-0). Jackita George also scored 10 points, and Jessica Whigham added 11.
Headland 39, Rehobeth 37: For Headland, Leigh Money led the way with 14 points.
Carley Parker led Rehobeth with 11.
Junior varsity
Tabernacle 21, Northside Methodist 19: Brantley Sloop had six points and four rebounds for NMA, and Graham Childree added six points.
Headland 59, Rehobeth 33: For Headland, Adrian Galloway scored 18 points. Rehobeth was led by Marcus Shealey with 15.
Jr. High
Slocomb sweeps Geneva County: Slocomb girls won 18-5, and the boys won 32-14.
Clarification
Carroll girls 53, Northview 29: Brittany Moore scored 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for Carroll in the victory on Thursday. It was reported in Friday’s edition that Moore had eight rebounds.
