Prep basketball: Dothan wins at the buzzer

ASHFORD — Jamal Rodgers tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer, as Dothan (3-1) defeated Ashford 51-49 on Friday night. Rodgers led the Tigers with 13 points.

Stephen Trawick added 11 points, Greg Marsh scored 11 and had five assists, and Barnard McGhee scored 10 points.

Mike Ray scored 11 for Ashford, and Terry White added 10.

Houston County 91, Northview 71: Andrew Bolden scored 28 to lead the Lions. Ernest Tyson added 19, Jazeric Peterson 16 and Tyreek George 12.
Northview was led by Levert Bristol with 23 and Antonio Mitchell with 16.

Wicksburg 56, Geneva County 44: Hunter Butler and Drake Rogers scored 17 each to lead Wicksburg.
Desmond Lett led Geneva County with 19 points.

Houston Academy 48, Ariton 31: Jo-El Bennett led HA with 17 points, and Emory Griffith added nine points.
For Ariton, Keyshawn Leggett scored 12 points.

Abbeville 58, Rehobeth 53: Garyon Beachem led Abbeville with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Zaccheus Watford led Rehobeth with 19 points, and Ladarrius McKinnon added 15.

New Brockton 47, Daleville 45: Michael Hayes and Tevin McNair each scored 11 points to lead New Brockton. Shambray Johnson added nine.
For Daleville, Robert Owens scored 13 points, and Charlie Stewart scored 10.

Dale County 56, G.W. Long 45: Xavier Hightower scored 20 and Brian Freeman 12 as Dale County broke open a four-point game in the final two minutes.

The Rebels were led by Carlos McLeod with 24 points, 16 rebounds and five steals.

Carroll 51, Slocomb 39: Bryant McCray led Carroll with 13 points. Darren Wilson scored 11 points, and Sylvester Sikes added 10.

For Slocomb, Andre Robinson scored 12 points, Lee Merritt 11 and Clay Holmes had nine points and 13 rebounds.

Charles Henderson 51, Barbour County 47: Jabari Brown scored 13 to lead the Trojans (1-1). Michael Zachary added 12.

Barbour County was led by Twakwon Whigham with 24 and Shelton Thompkins-Daniels with 14.

Eufaula 78, Randolph-Clay 73: Greg Hill scored 29 to lead the Tigers. Breland Jackson added 19 off the bench and Marcel Petterson scored 16.
Randolph Clay was led by Shaquille Nunnally with 19 and Timothy Stringer with 15.

Enterprise 54, Andalusia 51: Michael Sheldon and Randell Solomon each scored 12 for Enterprise, while Jourdan McGowan and Rhett Harrelson added 11.

Samson 72, Geneva 56: Trey Holmes scored 12 points and had 18 rebounds for Samson. Brandon Carter added 14 points and six assists. Tyler Rushing added 11 points, and Deonte Williams had 10, as Samson coach Scott Gafford earned his 150th career win.

Willie Williams led Geneva with 18 points. JoJo Tolver and Jordan McIntyre added 14 points each.

Northside Methodist 90, Brooklane 27: Sean Troester led NMA with 17 points and seven rebounds. Justin Snell scored 14 points, and Aaron Finn scored 13.

Butler County Magnet 59, Highland Home 51: Victor Marshall scored 13, Adrian Paige 12 and Adrian Rich 10 for Butler County (2-0).

Providence Christian 70, Zion Chapel 35: On Thursday, Justin Peak led PCS with 18 points. Banks Smith scored 13, and Sam Dowd added 12.

Brooklane 34, Northside Methodist 29: Brantley Sloop led NMA with 18 points and seven rebounds. Sam Short added nine points.

Carroll 43, Slocomb 27: Cody Hemphill led Carroll with 21 points. Christoff Copeland had 10 for Slocomb.

Eufaula 36, Randolph-Clay   25: Quay Norris scored nine to lead Eufaula.

Ashford 50, Dothan 44: Raphael Alvarado scored 23 to lead Ashford, while Timothy Coker scored 14 for Dothan.

Providence Christian boys 35, Zion Chapel 4: Spencer Walker led the way with 11 points on Thursday.

Houston County 35, Northview 30: Robert Peterson scored nine for the Lions.

Geneva 49, Samson 38: Shawn Meadows led Geneva with 17 points. Caleb Hall added 12 points, and Garrett Danley scored 10.
Gage Jackson led Samson with 19 points, and Phillip Coleman scored 10 points.

Dothan 48, Ashford 33:
Charmaine Ward led Dothan with 21 points. Jasmine Cantlope added 10.

For Ashford, Daishu McGriff scored 18 points, and Tanesha Jones added 12.

Geneva 72, Samson 63: Cheree’ Duncan scored 28 points to lead the Panthers (2-1), while Kyia McNeal added 13 and Chanice Townsend 10.
Samson was led by Roslyn Bess with 24 and Haley Earles with 11.

Abbeville 72, Rehobeth 33: Raven Grubbs led Abbeville with 20 points. Jahkilyah Minatee scored 11.

For Rehobeth, Laquanda Cummings scored 14 and Christina Kuhlman 13.

Carroll 53, Slocomb 46: Tia Faleru scored 22, grabbed 21 rebounds and blocked three shots as the Eagles improved to 4-1.

Brittney Moore had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Kadaleus Gissendanner had nine points, four assists, six rebounds and three blocks.

Slocomb was led by Kenzlie Reese with 15 points and Cassidy Littlefield with 14.

Houston Academy 33, Ariton 24: Madison Potter scored 11 with eight rebounds to lead the Raider attack. Kellie McCaffery had 10 points, and Andrea Yelverton had five rebounds and four points.

Ariton was led by Haley Goodson with 11 points and Calen Turner with seven.

Wicksburg 39, Geneva County 32: Shydae Dent scored 11 and had 13 steals for the Panthers. Alexis Crews had 13 points, Lexis Smith nine points and nine rebounds and Amber Weeks 10 rebounds.

Geneva County was led by Bridgett Williams with 10 points.

Northside Methodist 50, Brooklane 36: Gabrielle Turvin led NMA with 17 points, and Hannah Jordan added 11.

Barbour County 57, Charles Henderson 45: Jackita George scored 20, Shakkara Binkins 18, Jalissa Whigham 10 and Jessica Whigham nine for the Jaguars (2-0).

Niaka Shipman led Charles Henderson with 17.

Graceville 60, Vernon 24: Brittney Flournoy led Graceville with 14 points. Zay Henderson scored 13, and Mychea Williams scored 12.

Grace of Bainbridge 56, Ridgecrest Christian 26: Ridgecrest was led by Regan Castle with 10 and Baily Hope with eight. Grace was led by Ellen Heard with 13.
