Providence rolls in first round of Christmas Tournament

Providence rolled over Rehobeth 74-41 to open the Providence Christian Christmas Tournament.

Madison Longchamp led PCS with 26 points and five assists, and Andrea Charlton scored 23 points, had 14 rebounds and recorded five steals. Katie Dowd scored 12 points.

Samson 68, Carroll 54: Class 2A ranked Samson took the victory over the Eagles.

For Carroll, Akia Borders had 22 points and 12 rebounds, Tia Faleru had 18 points, 16 rebounds and five assists and Takeelah March had 10 points.

Slocomb 60, Tallassee 45: Mercedes Jett had 15 points, leading Slocomb’s win over Tallassee.

Red Level Christmas Tournament
Girls
Red Level 49, McKenzie 17:
Koneshia Calloway led Red Level with 19 points.

Also in the tournament, Andalusia defeated Luverne 82-17, Straughn beat Brantley 48-29 and Laurel Hill beat Highland Home 32-30.

Boys
Red Level 80, Florala 55:
Cale Nolen led Red Level with 32 points, and D.J. Sankey added 14.

Eric Vess led Florala with 16 points, Lavoris Ball added 12 and Dustin Hinson scored 10.

Other scores in the tournament are as follows: LAMP 77, Brantley 76; Straughn 59, Flomaton 46 and McKenzie 48, Highland Home 47.
