Walton County edges Samson girls at buzzer in OT

DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. — Lee Paulk hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Walton County to a 66-64 overtime win over Samson. She finished with 20 points.
Jowanna Milsap led Samson (13-6) with 23 points. Trianna Reeves added 12 and Shawnelle Marsh and Roslyn Bess scored 10 each.
Samson teammate Bianca Phillips’ putback basket with five seconds left forced overtime at 58-all.
Ashford 48, Brewbaker Tech 34: Daisha McGriff scored 16 points and Christina Rogers added 12 as the Yellow Jackets improved to 21-3 with a road win.
Yashika Johnson led Brew Tech with 12 points. Courtney White added 10.
Providence Christian 77, Geneva County 30: Madison Longchamp scored 25 points to help the balanced Eagles run past the Bulldogs.
Andrea Charlton had 17 points and 11 steals. Elizabeth Dowd had 13 points. Katie Dowd finished with eight points, eight rebounds and five steals. Providence improved to 14-1.
Carroll 67, Rehobeth 21: Tia Faleru scored 26 points, pulled down 15 rebounds and had six steals and four blocked shots for the Eagles (14-3, 1-1 area).
Akia Borders added 19 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots in the victory. Teammate Takeelah March had eight assists, seven steals, seven rebounds and four points.
Lyquinda Cummings led Rehobeth with eight points.
Geneva 51, Wicksburg 36: At Wicksburg, Cheree Duncan led Geneva (12-4, 3-0 area) with 16 points. Samantha Presgraves led Wicksburg with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Straughn 49, Luverne 25: Kaitlynn Wiggins scored 12 points to help Straughn improve to 16-3 and 3-0 in area play. The win was the 200th for head coach Scott Kinsaul in his career.
Elba 52, Cottonwood 42: Jaquetta Whitfield scored 20, while Kei-auna Edwards scored 13 and Janae Carnley 10 for Elba.
Lakeside 62, Emmanuel Christian 34: Logan Adams scored 17 points to help Lakeside improve to 14-4, 8-0 in region play.
Kelley Hudson scored 11 points and Merritt Waddell added 10 points, six assists and seven steals.
Brantley 49, Ariton 21: Eisha Person scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds in the victory for Brantley (9-7, 2-0 area). Teammate Erica Daniels had eight points and 10 rebounds.
Graceville 69, Vernon 21: All 11 Graceville (15-2) players scored. Alysa Hogans was the only one to reach double figures. She scored 12.
Barbour County 54, G.W. Long 15: Nicole Brooks led Barbour County (12-3, 4-0) with 10 points. Shakkara Dinkins added nine.
Northview 73, Early County (Ga.) 62: Alannah Vincent scored 26 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out five assists to lead Northview. Kacey Frazier had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Brittany Brown had nine points.
Florala 55, McKenzie 21: Florala was led by Justina Clissolv with 18 and Chelsey Davis had 14.
Charles Henderson 63, Eufaula 41: Erica Henderson scored 22 points to lead the Lady Trojans (8-7, 3-0 5A, Area 3) over Eufaula (3-13, 1-2). Niara Shipman added 20 points and Amiria Blakely contributed eight points and nine rebounds.
Andalusia 53, Thomasville 49: Anjelica White had 14 points and Amber Anderson 13 to lead Andalusia (14-2).
Boys
Rehobeth 65, Carroll 61: At Rehobeth, James Cummings paced the Rebels (9-8, 2-1) with 20 points. Ladarius McKinnon added 18 points and Tyler Phares 10.
The Eagles (10-8, 0-3 area) were led by Bryant McCray, who scored 20 points.
Providence Christian 78, Geneva County 57: Three Eagles players combined for 70 of the team’s 78 points. Johnny Dowd scored 28 points, Keith Granger had 22 and Banks Smith added 20 for Providence (7-5, 2-0 area).
Rico Reese led the Bulldogs, who took an early 9-3 lead, with 22 points. Desmond Lett added 15.
Eufaula 65, Charles Henderson 38: Herbert Brooks scored 19 points and the Tigers ran away from the Trojans with a 24-8 edge in the third quarter.
Dave Dennis had 12 points for the Tigers, who improved to 20-1.
Daris Wilson led Henderson with 14 points.
Early County (Ga.) 71, Northview 58: The woes continued for Northview, which dropped to 0-11.
Anrico Bighem had 17 points, B.J. Chitty 15 and Joe Coachman nine for the Cougars.
Escondarious Yarbrough led the Bobcats with 21 and Kajuane Freeman had 11.
Pike County 46, Dale County 42: At Brundidge, a final-minute Warriors charge came up four points short. Quay Bailey led the Bulldogs, now 2-1 in the area, with 11 points.
Greg Henderson led Dale County (13-7, 0-3 area) with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Brian Freeman and Trey Merritt added 10 points each for the Warriors, who cut a 10-point deficit to four in the final minute.
Brewbaker Tech 81, Ashford 55: At Montgomery, Brew Tech avenged an earlier loss to the Yellow Jackets.
Tim James and D.C. Condrey led Ashford (13-8) with 20 and 19 points, respectively.
Kendall Broughton and C.J. Bendolph led Brew Tech with 19 points each. Giovanni Smith added 15 and Chris Dixon had 13.
Wicksburg 57, Geneva 44: Ryan Clark led a balanced Wicksburg attack with 13 points. James Brock added 11 and Colby Thomley had nine for the Panthers (7-10).
Willie Williams and Darius Flowers led Geneva with nine points each.
Elba 70, Cottonwood 58: Chance Goosby scored 35 to lead Elba, while Trey Belcher scored 10 and Kareem Siler eight.
Brantley 57, Ariton 35: Tory Upshaw scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Wesley Person added 11 points for Brantley (11-6, 2-0 area).
Georgiana 72, Frisco City 42: LaCory Savage scored 13 points and Victor Marshall added 10 as balanced Georgiana (15-5, 3-0) routed Frisco City. Jamie Rankins led FCHS with 11 points.
Barbour County 67, G.W. Long 34: Devondrick Richardson led Barbour County (17-2, 4-0) with 14 points and six rebounds. Courtavious Dorsey added 11 points and five rebounds. Robert Lampley scored 10 points and had five rebounds, and Nicholas Brooks had nine points and 11 rebounds.
Andalusia 77, Thomasville 38: Andalusia (15-2) got 22 points from Nico Johnson, 14 from Brandon Sims and 12 from Jamal Curry in getting the win.
Red Level 70, Flomaton 64: D.J. Sankey led Red Level with 28 points and nine rebounds, and Cale Nolen scored 26 points.
Evangel 74, Lakeside 72: Chris Williams led Lakeside (4-13) with 35 points. Tyler Crouch added 14, and Drew Wilkerson scored 13.
Macon-East 50, Pike Liberal Arts 48: For Pike Liberal, Justin McLaughlin scored 14, while Douglas Hawkins and Ross Hixon each added 10.
McKenzie 65, Florala 52: Armond Ball scored 12 and Melvin Owens 11 for McKenzie. Florala was led by Justin Hinson with 20, while Zac Fleming and Eric Bess each scored 10.

Carroll 42, Rehobeth 39: Darius Wilson scored 19 points to help the Eagles improve to 9-1 on the season. Antonio Debose led Rehobeth with 10 points.
Elba 30, Cottonwood 21: Jake Carnley scored 10 and Harry Griffin seven for Elba.
Carroll 42, Rehobeth 39: Darren Wilson led Carroll with 19 points. Antonio Debose led Rehobeth with 10.
Dixie Academy 85, Chambers Academy 16: Seventh-grader Kyle Helms scored 38 points, leading Dixie Academy (5-2).
