Dothan Dixie Boys advance to district
At Eastgate Park, the Dothan Dixie Boys won the sub-district with a 7-4 win over Columbia-Webb.
Ethan Holland got the win and had two singles. Davis Swicord got the save. Gavin Gunter had a two-run homer. Roquel Marsh had two singles and two RBIs and Charles Swicord and Jacob Hicks had two singles and an RBI each. Brandon Green drove in a run with a single.
Dothan will play in the district tournament in Troy next Monday at 4 p.m.
Dothan National Red wins ‘O’ Zone subdistrict
At Westgate Park, Dothan National Red beat Ozark 12-5 in the title game. Both teams advance to the district tournament at Westgate Park beginning next Monday.
For Dothan, Andrew Benak got the win. Benak, Cody Cain, Tyler Redick and Jay Greenlee had two singles each. Caleb Coker and Noah Johnson had Ozark’s hits.
Dothan National advances in Sub-District 11-12 Ponytails
MIDLAND CITY — Dothan National captured the sub-district tournament title, beating Troy 14-3 Tuesday night.
Dothan National advanced to the district tournament later this week in Ozark. It will play host Ozark on Thursday night.
In Tuesday’s win, Grace Mitchell and Caity Bowley combined on a four-hitter with seven strikeouts. Offensively, Tia Davis had two hits and drove in three runs. Mitchell had one hit, but drove in four runs and Lillie Hobson had one hit and three RBIs. Megan Coles added a triple and an RBI.
