Everybody hit for the Trojans Friday night, including me. I went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in the first…

...OK, that didn’t happen. But HERE is my game story. I won’t be able to make it to the rest of the series, but I liked the lineup Pierce threw out there tonight. Miles Hoyle is a power-hitting lefty better suited for the third spot and whenever Michael Precise is in the lineup, no matter where he is or if he’s hitting or not, Troy seems to do well.

Steven Felix in the 8 hole and Adam Bryant in the 9 spot both had three hits. Skills-wise, they’re better than 8 and 9 hole hitters, but they seem to fit the spot well and are comfortable in it.

Tyler Ray pitched a very solid six innings. What was probably better was Drew Hull and Fred Lewis looking better in the latter part of the game. Pitching depth has been a problem this year, though the arms are there and have to be run out there.

On furlough today, so not even a twitter from me after the game, but it’s at 6 p.m. with Barry and Jerry telling it like it is.
