Sun Belt picks, and a poll

Not sure of my overall record, though I’m sure it’s near-perfect. I’m still visiting family, so hence the lack of original updates the past couple of days. You know how the holidays go.
Light Sun Belt schedule today. Here goes
Arkansas State at North Texas, 1 p.m. - ASU has a warmup before the “Sun Belt championship” next week. ASU 45, UNT 14
Florida International vs. Florida Atlantic, 3 p.m. - I look for the Owls to rebound here and end FIU’s “dream season” bowl-eligible hopes. FAU would finish at 6-6. FAU 27, FIU 20
Next Wednesday
For some reason, Middle Tennessee is playing at UL-Lafayette on an ESPN Regional game. Not ESPN or ESPN2, but regional TV. That means me and my cable package can’t get it. I remember asking MTSU head coach Rick Stockstill about it casually during Sun Belt Media Days, and he wasn’t thrilled with it either. Meanwhile, I’ll go with the Blue Raiders to steal a road win, get 6-6 and knock ULL to 5-7. It’s a little revenge from last year. MTSU 34, ULL 24
Now, for a poll

As best as I know it, the Sun Belt doesn’t pool and split it because there’s not enough to go around unless a Sun Belt makes a BCS Bowl or something that makes a heck of a lot of money.
The bowl payouts rely a lot on tickets sold and the corporation. Troy could sell a lot of tickets to Birmingham (and probably New Orleans too) and reap rewards from that. But I have a hard time seeing ASU losing to Troy, going to the Indy Bowl and then getting $700,000 more than Troy for going to Nawlins or Bham. I think there’s a base pay and the total package could be $1 mil if all the tickets are sold, but usually that doesn’t happen.
I’m still in the dark about a lot of it myself.

Help me understand the Bowl situation, does the sunbelt teams pool their bowl money and split it? If not it appears that the Independence Bowl payout iover 1 million and the NO Bowl & Papa Johns is in the 300 thousands. If this is true could we go to the Independence Bowl
