Troy wins its seventh straight with a 40-20 win. Shawn Southward is your new starting running back, most likely, and ran for 139 yards on 19 carries and 4 TDs, tying a school record set by Phillip Jones vs. Jacksonville State in 1997.

Southward’s TD runs were 2, 1, 10 and 39.

“Shawn has showed us in practice and in games that he deserves more carries,” head coach Larry Blakeney said. “They told me in the middle of the week that they were going to start him. I don’t disagree with that. DuJuan’s a guy that we’ve still got to have and he’ll continue to work and he means a lot to this football team.”

Levi Brown has now thrown 258 passes without a pick. The season record is 271 by Trent Dilfer at Fresno State in 1993. The NCAA record, set over a 2-year span, is Russell Wilson at NC State with 378 (I believe).

Brown went 20-of-33 for 251 yards with a score and showed off his legs with a 37-yard run. Jerrel Jernigan had 6 catches for 81 yards.

I didn’t get a chance to get a video with Micah Grimes, who had an ankle injury late in the game. Hopefully it isn’t serious.

I did get some video clips and will put together something later. Now, it’s off to the hotel in Franklin, TN
