PROJECTED STARTING LINEUPS
TROY
G - Michael Vogler (6’1, 180, Sr.) - 13,3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 6.0 apg
G - Brandon Hazzard (6’2, 192, Sr.) - 17.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.0 apg
G - Richard Delk (6’4, 191, Sr.) - 11 ppg, 5.7 rpg
F - Antywan Jones (6’6, 190, Sr.) - 7.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg
C - Yamene Coleman (6’9, 230, Sr.) - 11.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg
ABOUT TROY: The Trojans faced some real competition last week against Florida, but simply didn’t play very well. When Hazzard goes 2-for-13 and scores 5 points, you know the Trojans are in for a long night. Reserve Bernard Toombs may have earned more minutes with his play at Florida, and he gives Troy a more physical presence down low than Trayce Macon behind Coleman, though Macon is the better shooter. This is the second of eight straight games away from Trojan Arena.
UAB
G - Aaron Johnson (5’8, 185, Jr.) - 8.8 ppg, 3.4 apg
G - Jamarr Sanders (6’4, 200, Jr.) - 8.8 ppg, 4.0 rpg
G - Elijah Millsap (6’6, 210, Jr.) - 16.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg
F - Cameron Moore (6’10, 225, So.) - 3.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg
C - Howard Crawford (6’8, 240, Sr.) - 14.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg
ABOUT UAB: Blazers beat an SEC team, though not a very good one in Georgia recently. Millsap has played against Troy before as he spent two seasons at UL-Lafayette and was Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2007. UAB swept a home-and-home series last year with Troy, but this is the only matchup this year. UAB has won 25 straight home games against non-conference opponents.
PREDICTION: Troy doesn’t play bad, but UAB wins a close one. UAB 77-72
