These games do count
March 06, 2009
It seems like baseball season just started. Oh wait, it did. Well, Troy starts Sun Belt play with a three-game road trip to Florida International today.
The Trojans are 7-2 and have won three straight. The Golden Panthers are 4-2 and had three games against better competition canceled because of weather. It’s not an easy matchup for the Trojans.
The game tonight is at 6 p.m. CST, with Saturday’s game at 5 and Sunday at 1. The first two games are on the radio via broadcast of Taylor Bryan, who catches a plane Sunday and heads to Hot Springs where Voice of the Trojans Barry McKnight awaits.
Probable pitching rotation
FRI - Troy’s Tyler Ray (Fr., RHP, 1-1, 3.75 ERA) vs. Scott Rembisz (Jr., RHP, 1-0, 1.20 ERA)
SAT - Troy’s Jason Walls (Jr., RHP, 1-1, 5.00 ERA) vs. Tom Ebert (Jr., RHP, 1-0, 0.00 ERA)
SUN - Troy’s Travis Burge (Sr., LHP, 1-0, 3.48 ERA) vs. Corey Polizzano (Jr., LHP, 0-1, 2.25 ERA)
Note that Polizzano has pretty much shut down Troy for the past two seasons in wins for FIU. Troy has won 2 of 3 the past two years, but Polizzano got the win in the FIU wins, wins of 9-1 in 2007 and 8-2 last year. The Saturday starter Ebert is a big boy, listed at 6-foot-6, 255.
