The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Wiregrass will host a fall carnival on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. at 457 S. Alice St. in Dothan. Games, a spooky house, graveyard, fortune teller and face painting will be part of the carnival. Games will cost between 25 cents and $1. A wristband for $10 will allow youth unlimited games, one trip to the inflatables, one trip through the graveyard, popcorn and a drink. Individual game tickets will be 25 cents. Call 792-8787.

THEATER
The Featured Players Theatre, 158 S. Foster St., Dothan, will perform “Unwrap Your Candy” Friday and Saturday, Oct. 31-Nov. 1, as well as Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14-15. Doors open at 6 p.m.; show starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults; $6 for children. Call 673-1243 for reservations. The play is a series of three stories with creepy twists, and content may not be appropriate for young children.

All Hallows Eve Horror Night will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center on South St. Andrews Street in downtown Dothan. The event will feature Mizu, Mookie and DJ Dolla Bill as master of ceremonies. There will be a costume contest and a full service bar. Cost is $10 to enter and $25 to reserve a table. Proceeds benefit the center’s after-school art programs.

ART
The First Saturday Family Day will be held at the Wiregrass Museum of Art on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 10:30 a.m. This month’s free art lesson will be about self-taught artists. Participants will make kites as an art project.

SUNDAY, NOV. 2
ART
The 4th Annual Sunday Afternoon with the Arts will be held on Sunday, Nov. 2, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chipola Arts Center in Marianna, Fla. The event is free and will feature artists from throughout the region as well as hands-on art opportunities, refreshments, live music and door prizes.

MUSIC
The Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 205 Holly Lane, Dothan, will celebrate All Saints Day with a musical performance of John Rutter’s “Requiem” on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. The performance will feature the church’s choir and a small orchestra.

The Wiregrass Museum of Art will host the third segment of an ongoing public discussion series, Blow Your Mind, on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. in the museum’s conference center. The topic is “Books: The History and Art of Letterpress Bookmaking.” Scott Fisk will lead the discussion.

THURSDAY, NOV. 13
THEATER
“A Lesson Before Dying” by Romulus Linney and based on the Ernest Gaines’ novel will be performed by the Troy University’s department of theatre and dance beginning Thursday, Nov. 13. Other performances will be Nov. 14, 15, 19, 20 and 21. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. in the Trojan Center Theatre. The story centers on a young black man wrongly condemned to death in Louisiana in 1948. His godmother asks a school teacher to teach him to die like a man. Tickets are available at the Trojan Center box office. Reserved seating, $5. Tickets free for Troy students with ID. Call 670-3293.

MUSIC
A Night of Stars concert will be held at the Ozark Civic Center on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. The concert will feature Motown sounds from the Legends with Ronnie the Hat, country-Christian group The Springs, and bluegrass band Pure & Simple. Advance tickets are $10; reserve seating is $15. Tickets can be purchased at Carousel Music and Upscale Apparel, both in Dothan, Under the Boardwalk in Eufaula, Music Music in Enterprise, and by calling the Ozark Civic Center box office at 774-2618.

MUSIC
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4362 Lafayette St., Marianna, Fla., will host the FSU Baroque Ensemble on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 4 p.m. as part of its fine arts series. The ensemble features musicians on cello, violin, flute and harpsichord.

Mercy Me will perform on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery with special guest Bebo Norman. The performance is part of the All That is Within Me Tour. DANCE
“The Nutcracker” will be performed by the Southeast Alabama Dance Company at the Dothan Civic Center on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $19 for Saturday’s performance; $19 for adults and $14 for children on Sunday.
