As co-chairpersons of the “Yes We Can! Dothan” education movement, we would like to thank the Dothan community for its involvement and participation with our schools and with this important movement. We have recently celebrated our first anniversary, and our work is continuing.
We held a round of community conversations, gathered the voice of our community, published our community agreement, set up strategic planning committees and presented a “Yes We Can! Dothan” co-owned strategic plan to the Dothan city school board, which accepted it.
Now we all must work together to implement this important plan. We are in the process of setting up 12 advocacy groups open to all residents in our community, and will be another important step in the “Yes We Can! Dothan” process.
If you would like to be involved, please contact our office at (334) 836-0217 ext. 105, or send e-mail to dtnedfound@aol.com.
We plan to be around for some time to come. Our goal is to have a first-class education system in Dothan, because we know that better schools will produce a better Dothan.
Can this be achieved? Yes, it can! Together, we can make a difference for our children, our schools and our city.
