A Geneva County Circuit Court judge sentenced two Samson residents to life in prison for the 2007 shooting death of 52-year old Timothy Wilkerson.
Both Glen Dewayne Lee, 47, and Theresa Ann Wilkerson, 48, were convicted by a jury of murder in March in front of Judge P.B. McLauchlin Jr. Geneva County District Attorney Kirke Adams said McLauchlin sentenced the pair to life in prison.
A jury convicted Lee of shooting Timothy Wilkerson to death on April 29, 2007, and Theresa Wilkerson as an accomplice for aiding and abetting in the murder.
According to a statement from the Geneva County District Attorney’s Office, Lee claimed self defense during the trial, and Theresa Ann Wilkerson said she did not know Glen Lee was going to shoot Tim Wilkerson.
The victim was the former husband of Theresa Ann Wilkerson. According to a previous Eagle report, the shooting happened at the intersection of South Jordan and East Aplin streets in Samson, and appeared to stem from an ongoing domestic dispute.
“The family is as satisfied as you could after losing a loved one,” Adams said. “As the prosecutor, I believe they got what they deserved.”
