Dothan police arrested a 28-year-old man on charges he sexually molested a teenage girl after waking her up during a burglary at her home.
Police Capt. Steve Parrish said investigators arrested Carlos Commacho Miller early Wednesday morning and charged him with felony second-degree burglary and felony first-degree sex abuse.
“He broke into a residence, went into one of the bedrooms and had contact with a young lady who’s under the age of 18,” Parrish said. “The people at the residence knew the individual.”
Parrish said police responded to what was initially reported as a prowler call around 1:30 a.m. A couple hours later police arrested Miller at his Hodgesville Road apartment in southeast Dothan.
Miller was booked into the Dothan City Jail around 6:30 a.m. and later transferred to the Houston County Jail.
If convicted of the burglary crime Miller faces two to 20 years in prison for the class B felony and one to 10 years for the class C felony, first-degree sex abuse.
Court Records show Miller was out on bond for prior sex crimes when Dothan police arrested him on Wednesday.
Henry County authorities arrested Miller in 2005, and charged him with felony first-degree rape, felony first-degree sodomy and burglary. He was released two years later in November 2007, after he posted a $60,000 bond. Records show a grand jury failed to return an indictment on the burglary charge, but Miller is scheduled for trial next week in Henry County on the rape and sodomy crimes.
