A man used duct tape to bind three employees before robbing a Headland discount store Thursday night.

According to Headland Police Chief Mark Jones, the man approached one of the employees outside the store at about 8 p.m., forced him inside, then bound the store’s three employees.

Complicating matters for investigators, the robber removed video from the store’s cameras, taking the tapes with him when he fled on foot.

“He approached on foot and left on foot, but we're sure there was a vehicle parked around the side of the building somewhere,” Jones said.

Anyone who saw a vehicle parked on Solomon Road near Fred’s between 7:30 and 8:10 p.m. Thursday is urged to call the Headland Police Department at 693-2222 or Crimestoppers at 793-5000.

“We need all the help we can get on this one,” Jones said.
