A Dothan man died Saturday from injuries he suffered after a vehicle struck hin as he crossed an intersection in Dothan.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd said Cornelius Drinkard, 26, died early Saturday morning at Southeast Alabama Medical Center from the injuries he suffered from an accident late Friday night. Byrd said he was notified about the death, but did not respond because Drinkard apparently died at SAMC after he'd already been admitted for treatment.

Byrd said Drinkard was struck by a vehicle and taken to the medical center around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Dothan Police Capt. Greg Benton said the accident happened at the intersection of Selma Street and Edgewood Avenue. Benton said the incident remained under investigation Monday morning.
