Mexican national to be deported after county DUI arrest

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Bertha Moore, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, said Sabino Reyes-Santos, a 30-year-old Mexican national, was sentenced to serve three months in prison for the federal crime of illegal reentry into the country by a previously removed alien.

Moore said Reyes-Santos would receive time for credit served but would not be released from custody. Moore said Reyes-Santos will be deported back to Mexico.

Moore said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were notified about Reyes-Santos after he was arrested by Houston County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with driving under the influence.

Federal court records show Reyes-Santos was found in Houston County on March 19, after he’d already been deported from Arizona in March 2007.
