MONTGOMERY (AP) — The Alabama Public Service Commission is receiving nearly $869,000 in federal stimulus funds to use for electricity matters.

The PSC says the two-year funding will allow it to develop in-house expertise in advanced metering and for regulatory policy research on issues such as energy efficiency and electricity transmission.
