AUBURN — The Viper Motorcycle Co. has announced it is moving its headquarters and production facility from Minnesota to a site at Auburn, bringing about 100 jobs to the area over the next two years.

Gov. Bob Riley said at a news conference Tuesday that the company plans to build a 63,000-square-foot facility in Auburn Technology Park West.

Viper, now headquartered in Hopkins, Minn., produces high performance, super cruiser motorcycles for bike enthusiasts.

Viper CEO John Silseth said the company's goal is to produce 2,000 motorcycles a year at the plant within five years.
