Dothan man charged with concrete assault crime

Dothan police detectives arrested a 22-year-old man on an assault charge, alleging he used a piece of concrete to beat another man earlier this month.

Cpl. Rachel David confirmed police arrested Charles Keyma Carpenter, 22, of South Appleetree Street, and charged him with felony second-degree assault. Court records show police charged Carpenter with using a piece of concrete as a deadly weapon to assault another man.

David said in an e-mailed statement that the assault happened on Aug. 1 around 9:30 p.m. in the 900 block of South Ussery Street. She said victim of the assault suffered what she called a “moderate” injury.
