Two Kinsey brothers face felony charges after Dothan police charged them with a drug-related shooting during a residential burglary.
Dothan Police Cpl. Rachel David confirmed detectives arrested Raffeal Rashad Jones, 21, and Kenell Jones, 18, both of Kinsey Road in Kinsey, and charged them both with felony first-degree burglary and felony discharging a firearm into an occupied building.
David said in an e-mail that the charges stemmed from a burglary around 10 p.m. on Monday at a home in the 2100 block of Rocky Branch Road. David said the burglary was narcotics related and that the two men are brothers.
Court records show police charged the men with burglarizing a home occupied by a woman with the intent of committing an assault while inside the home. Records also show the men were charged with shooting a handgun while inside the victim’s home.
Both men were released from custody at the Houston County Jail after they posted a $60,000 bond.
The men face 10 to 99 years or life in prison if they’re convicted of the class A felony crime of first-degree burglary, and one to 10 years in prison if they’re convicted of the shooting charge, a class C felony crime.
