Ask the neighbors, and they’ll tell you: no one throws a Superbowl party in Ozark like Stuart Skinner.
Skinner, who lives near Ozark’s Country Club, said his street has a celebration of around 200 people privied to watching the Superbowl game on any of Skinner’s five televisions.
Skinner said he has thrown the party for about five years, all of which ribs, beer and sausage have made the event worthwhile.
The party has been frequented by Skinner’s co-workers, neighbors, past and present government and law enforcement officials in the city, Skinner said.
“Really, I don’t care who wins the game. I’m just havin’ a good time,” Skinner said.
Diehard Superbowl team fans who passed through Skinner’s house to eat had a different view on the game. But the spirit of the celebration was what mattered most, Charlotte Neupauer said.
Neupauer is one of Skinner’s neighbors.
“I’m a Cowboy fan, but I’m going for the underdog, the (New Orleans) Saints (against the Indianapolis Colts),” she said. “I’ve been at Stuart’s every year since I’ve moved here and no matter who wins, Stuart is a special person to be around. At this house, no matter who comes in, there’s no class system here. We block of the street and just have a good time.”
Skinner said at least 20 pounds of sausage, 20 slabs of ribs, five bags of oysters and three kegs of beer were purchased for the party.
“The way I see it, it’s the last football game of the year. Why not go all out for it?” Skinner said
