Dale County authorities have arrested a 27-year-old man on a charge he sexually abused a 14-year-old Hartford girl.

Sheriff's Investigator Harvey Mathis said he charged Jacob Anderson, of Daleville, with misdemeanor second-degree sex abuse.

Mathis said he charged Anderson with the sex abuse crime earlier this week. Mathis said the alleged sex abuse happened just before the Thanksgiving holiday in 2009 at Anderson’s apartment. Mathis said while the charge filed against Anderson is a misdemeanor, if he’s convicted of the crime he will have to register as a convicted sex offender.

Anderson was taken to the Dale County Jail and held on a $2,500 bond.

This case is still under investigation and anyone having information can call the Dale County Sheriff's Office at 774-2335.
