A man who was found dead in a pool in the Garden District in Dothan on Thursday morning has been identified as David Pierce Patton, 52, of 106 Camelia Dr.
Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd said Patton lived two houses down from where he was found in a backyard pool.
Police and fire crews responded to a house on Camelia Drive around 10:30 a.m. Thursday where a man's body was discovered in a pool.
Dothan Fire Capt. Chris Etheredge said he appears to have drowned sometime Wednesday night.
Etheredge said the home owner apparently called the authorities about the drowning. Several Dothan police investigators were at the home.
Byrd said preliminarily there appears to be no foul play involved, and that Patton drowned in the pool. He said Patton's body would be taken to the state Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to determine the specific cause of death.
"He was found in the swimming pool face down," Byrd said.
