Barbour County man killed in crash

A Eufalua man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Barbour County Sunday.

George Garland Jordan, 50, of Eufaula was killed in the accident.

Alabama State Troopers said a Ford Contour Jordan was traveling in ran off the road and struck a tree on David Jones Road in Barbour County. The accident happened at about 3:30 p.m. ten miles northwest of the Eufaula city limits.

Troopers said Jordan was traveling north on the road. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead on scene by Barbour County Coroner Chip Chapman.

The accident remains under investigation by the Alabama Highway Patrol.
