Man stabbed in Dothan, suspect in custody

A Dothan Police officer escorts a woman to a patrol car after she was apprehended in a suspected stabbing of a man on Kristie Road on Sunday afternoon. The victim was taken to a local hospital with an injury to the chest.


A man was stabbed in the chest in a house on Kristie Road in northwest Dothan on Sunday afternoon and a female suspect was taken into custody, according to police.

Lt. Scott Heath said the call to the home in the 2400 block of Kristie Road came in at 2:59 p.m.

Heath said the man was transported by ambulance to Flowers Hospital. The female suspect was apprehended with the help of a K-9 outside a residence a few houses away and was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center to be treated for a bite wound, he said.

The names of the victim and the suspect were not released.
